An ingenious design solution allowed the owners of an apartment overlooking Central Park to expand and connect to their newly purchased unit downstairs without losing any interior floor area. The large format, frameless glass enclosure celebrates the expansive views of the city and the park made possible by the stair’s optimal location. Both the stair and the oval glass enclosure were custom fabricated and tested in Germany before being shipped to New York City and craned into place.
